CUAUV Announced Student Team of the Year

Submitted by prteam on Sun, 03/22/2009 - 17:25.

CUAUV has just been awarded the College of Engineering Alumni Association Undergraduate Student Team of the Year Award, which includes a monetary prize of $1000.

Since 2001, each year the advising office solicits student groups to nominate themselves and explain what they did during the year that makes them excellent. Then the office of the Associate Dean for Engineering Undergraduate Program, usually in conjunction with the office of Alumni Affairs and Development, makes the final selection for this award. Recently, this award has been renamed as Albert R. George Student Team Award to honor the dedication, commitment, and support Professor Al George has shown to student teams and the engineering community.

Congratulations everyone!

Girl Scouts See "Science in Action"

Submitted by prteam on Tue, 03/03/2009 - 16:05.

On Saturday, February 28, 2009, girl scouts from all over Upstate New York came to Cornell University to earn their Science in Action Badge. This is the third year that the team has run the event. The girls had the opportunity to rotate through 5 stations led by various team members. The final station brought all the girls together to design and build the tallest tower out of newspaper and scotch tape. CUAUV is very excited to have hosted the event again this year and hopes to continue its trend of inspiring today's youth.
