After a vigorous decision process, the team voted on naming the 2009 Competition Vehicle, Nova. Below is the latest CAD model of the vehicle.

CUAUV Celebrates its 10th Anniversary

On Sunday, November 23, CUAUV celebrated its 10th Anniversary with an Open Pool Test. Faculty advisors, support staff, the Cornell Community and the Ithaca Community were all invited to attend. The event was a success with the team demonstrating the capabilities of its 2008 competition vehicle. For more pictures from the event visit the Image Galleries.

Team Gets Ready for Open Pool Test

On Sunday, November 16, CUAUV conducted its weekly pool test in preperation for the open pool test next week. Mission elements were completed autonomously. Pictured above are team members Brian Mittereder and Kevin Fuhr. A video from the pool test is also shown below. The team is looking forward to celebrating its 10th Anniversary next Sunday!

CUAUV 10th Anniversay Celebration!

Come join CUAUV in a celebration of the team's 10th Anniversary! On Sunday, November 23 from 5:30-7:30pm at Teagle Pool, CUAUV will be conducting an open pool test. You will have the opportunity to see Triton in action, view slideshows depicting the team's history, and meet members of the 2008-2009 team. Feel free to stop by or stay for the entire time. Light refreshments will be served.

Sunday Pool Test

A guest reporter and a video intern from the Cornell Chronicle joined CUAUV this Sunday at the weekly pool test. The team successfully ran through mission elements and worked on vision code.

      

Team Purchases Tank for Testing

This past weekend, CUAUV purchased a 2'x3'x5' tank that will be located in the ELL. The tank will allow for vehicle buoyancy testing as well as leak testing. Pictured below is the tank in CUAUV's lab space.

CUAUV Runs Second Lake Test

On Saturday, October 4, CUAUV ran its second lake test in Cayuga Lake. Deploying again from Well's College's dock, the team assessed lake conditions and tested the vehicle's Doppler Velocity Log (DVL). Due to the quickly dropping temperatures, the team probably will not run another test until the spring.

CUAUV Runs First Successful Lake Test in 10-Year History

CUAUV ran its first successful lake test on Saturday, September 20. At Wells College's dock in Aurora, the 2008 competition vehicle Triton was deployed in Cayuga Lake. Mission elements, as well as general vehicle functionality, were tested during this run. The team is excited about the results and hopes to get back into the lake soon.

Team Welcomes New Recruits

Analog Devices Sponsors CUAUV for 2008-2009

CUAUV is pleased to announce that Analog Devices will continue to sponsor the team for 2008-2009. Analog Devices has generously donated two copies of Analog's VisualDSP++ for Sharcs. These licenses will allow the team to switch over to Sharc processors, which will form basis of a new USBL direction-finding system for the new competition vehicle.
